2019 Audi TT vs. 2019 BMW M2

Both the 2019 Audi TT and 2019 BMW M2 are the perfect examples of a modern, compact, and fun to drive cars. They have distinct styles that command attention wherever they are. It is not surprising that these cars will be pitted against each other as both are interesting to every car enthusiast.

Design & Style

The TT sports an iconic styling that barely changed through the years. The third generation car has handsome features that are highlighted by the big trapezoidal grille. As it is marking its second decade, the 2019 version will release a special 20th Anniversary Edition. The limited production run will feature brown leather interior and a set of unique wheels to commemorate the 1999 launch.

The M2 is slightly updated to offer better aerodynamics. Notable changes include the bigger grille and front bumper, redesigned exhaust, wider tires, and flared fenders.

Technology & Safety

The technology features of the TT are a good representation of the brand's stand on providing only the best for its customers. The current MMI infotainment system is more streamlined to be user-friendly. Its intuitive controls allow safe navigation while actively driving the car. A revolutionary set of driver aids are also extra-special as they add another level of safety for the driver and passengers.

BMW made it a point to include an easy to use audio and navigation systems for the M2. Although Android Auto is not available in any of its versions, the Apple Car-Play comes in a trial basis along with other features like Wi-Fi hotspot and wireless charging. It lacks common driver aids that are standard features to its rival cars, including adaptive cruise control.

Performance

The TT may not be as exciting as a real sports car but it does offer a lot thanks to its powerful 228 hp engine. Both the coupe and convertible versions guarantee an excellent road performance. Thrust is also sufficient with the 258 lb-ft of torque. The handling is faultless and can easily match those cars that run in the racetrack.

The M2 has a standard 3.0-liter six-cylinder engine for an impressive 405 hp and 406 lb-ft of torque. This amount of power allows a joyful handling balance.

The Bottom Line

The 2019 BMW M2 is truly an impressive car but not recommended for daily driving. The engine power is simply too much to be used for city driving. The 2019 Audi TT, on the other hand, is a perfect choice if you are looking for an all-around stylish vehicle. The TT will let you experience sporty handling and acceleration if you want to. It can, however, comfortably match a daily driver's profile as it offers a smooth performance at any kind of road.
